Cupcake Card No.4

I have been experimenting with puff paint, and decided to see what my cupcakes icing would look like if I used some puff paint. It does give it great texture. What do you think?

Kaleidoscope Page No.2

Here It Is - how to make a kaleidoscope template

You will need:
1 piece 12 x 12 Vellum
1 Compass from geometry set
1 scissors

Step 1 – You are going to use the compass to draw a large circle on your vellum

Step 2 – Cut out the circle

Step 3 - Fold your circle in half and cut

 

 

Step 4 – You will only need one half of the circle. Fold the remaining section in half & cut

Step 5 – Now repeat the process with the quarter of the circle. Fold in half & cut

Step 6 – Now you have what looks like two pieces of a pie? You are only going to use one piece for your kaleidoscope

Step 7 – you are going to position your piece of vellum on your photo and trace a basic outline. If you turn the vellum over onto the mirror image you should be able to line it up.

Step 8 – Once you have lined them up you are going to use a pencil and trace around your vellum template and then cut out all your pictures.

This is a rounded edge template. If you want a straight edge kaleidoscope all you need to do is cut accurately across the curved section to get rid of the round edges.

Your Photo’s - you will need 8 of the same photo. 4 of them normal and 4 of them mirror image.
I print my own photos and if you right click on your picture it brings up a little box – select edit. This takes you to Paint. Now select Image on your tool bar. Select Flip/Rotate and select Flip horizontal – 90 degrees. This gives me the mirror image.

Rugby Ball

I'm a little teapot - Clock!

I spent yesterday afternoon working on this teapot clock. We will be doing this class shortly and I have been asked to put some kits together for all the fabulous new clocks - I will let you know as soon as the kits are ready.

Easter Eggs / Easter Project No.1

I think it might be a little early but I have started on some Easter projects. Well a month ago I was playing around with my polystyrene eggs and came up with this idea - making foiled covered eggs.

What You Will Need:

-          Polystyrene Easter Eggs

-          Strips Of Foil

-          Craft Paint / color of your choice

-          Art Knife

 Step 1 – Cut your polystyrene eggs in half using the art knife

Step 2 – Use a piece of foil to cover the polystyrene.

Step 3 – Once you have covered the polystyrene with foil give it a coat of craft paint & leave to dry.

Step 4 – Now you can use brads, ribbon, rhinestone etc. to decorate the egg.

As you can see I used my Easter Eggs for a card. When I did mine I used rhinestones to decorate the one in the center & the other two just got a coat of paint?

You can use your decorated eggs on your cards, gift bags, boxes etc.

Card No.2 - Using Scraps of ribbon

Here is another card I just made using scraps of ribbon.

Valentines Day Card - Using scraps of ribbon

I don't know about you, but I have a box full of those little pieces of off cuts from ribbons. I can't chuck anything away and I'm glad I didn't. I used some of the off cuts for a valentines card.

It quite simple - all you do is cut the ribbons edges straight, stick them down to the front of your card and add a heart or two.

TA DA! Flower Clock & To Do

This is something new, a wooden flower clock & to do. I think this is absolutely fabulous for your daughter’s room or as a gift. This is what the finished product looks like.

Join us on the 28/02/2009 for this fabulous class. The class will start at 9:30am and end at about 1pm. The class fee is R200 per person and this will include all the supplies, all you need to bring along is your basic tool kit and adhesives.
Booking essential and you will need to book by the 24/02/2009.

Wax Crayons, Paper Flowers & A Heat Gun

I am busy with my CLOCK & TO DO and I just did not have the right color flower for my TO DO. So I decided to play a bit.

What you need to do - take a paper flower and choose your colours that you want to use. Colour the flower in using wax crayons. Once you are happy with the colour use a heat gun to heat the flower. The wax melts into the flower and gives it a beautiful finish. If you are not to sure about this experiment first.
